L’11 gennaio 2023 sono stati resi noti i nomi dei registi candidati ai Directors Guild of America Awards, importante premio assegnato ogni anno dalla Directors Guild of America, corporazione di registi cinematografici e televisivi statunitensi. I DGA sono considerati uno dei principali anticipatori dell’Oscar per la Miglior Regia, così come gli Screen Actors Guild Awards lo sono per le categorie attoriali. Statistiche alla mano, su 72 edizioni è accaduto soltanto in 9 occasioni che il vincitore dei DGA Awards non si sia poi stato riconfermato dall’Academy, essendo gli stessi membri. Una di queste rare volte la si è vista di recente, quando Bong Joon-ho ha trionfato su Sam Mendes per il suo Parasite. I premi di questa 75esima edizione, verranno consegnati il 18 febbraio 2023.
