Sono state svelate le nomination della New York Film Critics Online per la stagione cinematografica 2025 e che, insieme ai recenti Gotham Awards, New York Film Critics Circle Awards, e National Board of Review, sancisce di fatto l’inizio della cosiddetta Awards Season, ovvero quel lungo periodo che sfocerà nella cerimonia degli Oscar, in programma il 16 marzo 2026. Una Battaglia dopo l’altra continua a macinare nomination in giro per gli Stati Uniti: sono 11 contro le 9 di I Peccatori, Hamnet e Sentimental Value, per un percorso netto che sembra davvero poter portare il lungometraggio di Paul Thomas Anderson ad affermarsi anche ai 98esimi Academy Awards. Una Battaglia dopo l’altra è il favorito agli Oscar?

Con l’annuncio delle nomination della New York Film Critics Online 2025 è iniziata, di fatto, la stagione dei premi che ci condurrà alla cerimonia di premiazione dei 98esimi Academy Awards, in programma il 16 marzo 2026. Una Battaglia dopo l’altra continua a dominare, ma il film di Paul Thomas Anderson va quindi ancora considerato il favorito per gli Oscar?

Per quanto note a livello internazionale, la maggioranza delle manifestazioni cinematografiche che assegneranno premi da qui a marzo hanno davvero poco a che vedere con le logiche dell’Academy, con le gilde di categoria come unica vera eccezione. Al netto di ciò, la nostra risposta è assolutamente sì, Una Battaglia dopo l’altra è il favorito agli Oscar. Certo, nei prossimi mesi tutto potrà cambiare e la concorrenza non manca – ma non è neanche così abbondante – e il film di Paul Thomas Anderson può tranquillamente dire la sua in almeno 7 o 8 categorie: impossibile infatti pensare che il film non ottenga candidature per miglior film, miglior regista, miglior sceneggiatura, miglior fotografia, miglior montaggio e nelle categorie attoriali, con Leonardo Di Caprio come attore protagonista, Chase Infiniti come attrice protagonista, Teyana Taylor (e Regina Hall?) come attrice non protagonista e, soprattutto, Sean Penn e Benicio Del Toro come attori non protagonisti. Insomma, è ancora presto, ma di Una Battaglia dopo l’altra sentiremo parlare ancora a lungo.
